Honey Mustard Sauce with Fried Chicken


Ingredients for honey mustard sauce:

  • ½ can MARIGOLD Evaporated Filled Milk

  • 100g chicken stock

  • 1½ tbsp mustard

  • 1½ tbsp honey

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ tsp mustard powder

  • ½ tsp plain flour

  • ½ tsp water

  • Salt to taste

Ingredients for fried chicken:

  • 12 pieces chicken strips

  • 1⁄3 cup plain flour

  • 1⁄3 cup breadcrumbs

  • 2 eggs

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 pinch paprika

  • Cooking oil (For deep frying)

Fried chicken

  1. Add paprika and salt to flour bowl. Mix thoroughly.

  2. Coat chicken strips with a layer of flour, then with eggs and with breadcrumbs after that.

  3. Deep-fry breaded chicken strips until golden brown.

Honey mustard sauce

  1. Cut garlic and mix mustard powder with water until it forms a paste.

  2. Sauté garlic with butter until fragrant.

  3. Add in mustard paste and flour, then mix until it thickens.

  4. Add in chicken stock, honey, mustard, salt and MARIGOLD Evaporated Filled Milk.

  5. Simmer for 5 minutes and whisk continuously.

  6. Ready to serve with fried chicken.

Chef's Tip:

When cleaning the chicken, rub the meat with a tablespoon of salt and a handful of flour. This removes slime and odour, resulting to better taste. Rinse the chicken with water after rubbing with salt and flour.
